The Ultimate DIY: How to Make Light, Fluffy Whipped Shea Butter
We all love the deep, healing power of Nubiana's 100% Pure African Shea Butter. It's a natural miracle for healing dry skin, eczema, and stretch marks. But sometimes, in its raw, unrefined state, it can be very thick and a bit hard to spread.
Want to know the secret to transforming it into a light, airy, luxurious cream that glides onto your skin like a cloud? Whip it.
Making your own whipped body butter is incredibly simple. It keeps all the healing benefits of the raw shea but in a fluffy, non-greasy texture you'll fall in love with.

The 4-Step Recipe for Fluffy Perfection
Step 1: Gently Melt Your Shea Butter You don't want to "cook" the butter, just soften it. The best way is a double boiler. Place your shea butter in a glass bowl over a pot of simmering (not boiling) water. Let it melt gently until it's a liquid.
Step 2: Add Carrier Oil & Chill Remove the bowl from the heat. Stir in your 1/4 cup of carrier oil. (This is what keeps it fluffy!) Now, place the bowl in the refrigerator or freezer for 20-40 minutes. You want the oils to become solid but soft—like the consistency of room-temperature butter. It should not be rock-hard or still liquid. This step is the key to getting a good whip.
Step 3: Whip It! Using your electric hand mixer, start whipping the soft, solidified oils. Start on low and gradually increase the speed. It will look like a thick paste at first, but keep going! After 5-10 minutes of whipping, air will incorporate into the mixture, and it will magically transform into a light, white, fluffy "frosting."
Step 4: Add Scent & Store If you're using essential oils, add them during the last minute of whipping. Scoop your finished whipped body butter into a clean, airtight glass jar. Store it at room temperature (under 75°F / 24°C) to keep it from melting.
Pro-Tip: Make a "Hair & Scalp Whip" Want a special blend for your hair? In Step 2, add one tablespoon of Pure Batana Oil to your melted shea butter. This will create a super-nourishing whipped sealant for your hair and a stimulating treatment for your scalp!
